ClaimMentor:

Simplifying claims handling by automating routine tasks, letting adjusters focus on what matters most

Answers provided by Luis Diaz (GIA 2025)

Founder & Team

  • Luis Diaz – 20-year InsurTech veteran (Guidewire, Sureify, Socotra) with two patents in claims automation.

  • Chuck Wilson (Co-founder) – 30 years integrating core systems; three exits.

  • Supported by two senior engineers (full-stack & UX) and a mentor bench from the Global Insurance Accelerator (GIA).

Why I Started ClaimMentor

Adjusters are the face of the promise we sell as an industry, yet they spend roughly half their day on administrative busywork instead of helping claimants. I founded ClaimMentor in mid-2024 to give adjusters the modern tools they deserve and return the human element to claims.

Mission

Empower adjusters with smart, human-centered tools that let them focus on caring for claimants, speed up resolutions, elevate the entire claims experience, and reduce the administrative burden on insurance adjusters so they can resolve claims faster and deliver a better customer experience.

Problem & Solution

  • Pain: Phone-tag to schedule statements, impersonal interviews, and manual note-taking that misses details.

  • Fix: An all-in-one “Recorded Statement Workbench”: 1) Smart scheduling link—shares real-time adjuster availability via SMS or email. 2) On-camera interviews—humanize the conversation while we auto-transcribe. 3) AI summaries & highlights—key facts and follow-ups pushed straight into the claim file.

Target Users

Liability desktop adjusters at P&C carriers and TPAs that handle claims on carriers’ behalf.

Insurance Intersection

Pure B2B SaaS sold to claims operations; integrates with Guidewire, Duck Creek, and other core systems via secure APIs.

Competitive Edge

End-to-end workflow—competitors cover isolated steps; we cover scheduling → recording → transcript → summary.

Zero-install, carrier-grade security—adjusters are up and running in minutes.

Domain DNA—built by former core-system insurance technologists who know adjuster pain first-hand..

Edge

Complete workflow in one tool, zero-install, carrier-grade security, and deep domain DNA.

GIA Impact

The GIA provided: executive introductions, a discovery playbook that kept us focused, seed capital for the MVP, and ongoing mentor support—all giving us credibility and momentum. The Global Insurance Accelerator wasn’t just a 100-day program; it became the launch-pad that turned a slide deck into a funded, pilot-ready product:

  • Access at the C-suite level
Those conversations validated the pain points we’d heard anecdotally and teed up the executive sponsors now reviewing our pilot contracts.

  • A rigorous discovery playbook
GIA’s coaches pushed us to run evidence-based discovery We completed 100+ structured interviews and scored every insight. The discipline kept feature creep at bay and sharpened our focus on recorded statements.

  • Seed capital with accountability
Initial capital is funding our MVP

  • Credibility & spotlight
Being “GIA-backed” adds instant legitimacy when talking to conservative insurance buyers. Demo Day on the GIS main stage, GIA’s newsletter features, and the upcoming showcase booth give us far more exposure than a young startup usually earns.

  • Enduring mentor bench
The program paired us with claims veterans, compliance attorneys, and actuarial leaders who still jump on calls when we have a thorny question. That advisory network is priceless.

Evolution Since GIA

Went from concept deck to working product, sharpened positioning around recorded statements. Built a focused pipeline of five launch customers.

2025 Goals

Land 5 paying carriers/TPAs, launch a fraud-detection add-on, and expand into a full Claims Workbench.

How You Can Help

Introduce us to claims VPs or TPA leaders open to piloting. Our solution is easy to validate since it is a zero-install tool with a monthly subscription model. We are looking for customers that are willing to work closely as we refine our MVP.
